The goal of The Motor City Spotlight Gift of the Week located at www.gmd.giftsanddeals.com is to save you time and money by being able to go to one place to quickly gaze at current bargains to decide which store will get you the best bang for your shopping dollar.

Our Spotlight Gift of the Week will feature a single item or niche gift store featuring great deals to save you money for an upcoming holiday or event. We combine the latest coupons or special offers along with price comparisons to get you a great deal. Come back every week to see our latest Spotlight Gift of the Week.

In addition, each day our staff of shopping advisors reads over a hundred emails to bring you special offers, coupons, coupon codes, sales and deals from over 250 stores. Our motto is "Why pay full price?" and we do our best to make sure that our readers get a deal.

At the same time, we will not feature items just because they "seem" to be a bargain. We would rather bring you a great gift idea or fresh new product than to show you something cheap!

Why we are different
Our spotlight feature came about because as we would visit stores and shop for a deal we learned that very often, the best price is not shown at the price comparison engines!

These engines do not usually include a discount from a coupon code, a free shipping deal or a 2 for 1 special that makes the 5th or 6th store on the list actually the least expensive!

We compare current offers and the comparison pricing to help you find the lowest price to your door.

There are many websites that have lists of coupons, and many sites that have lists of deals, but as we viewed all these websites, one thing kept coming out. There were not many suggestions as to how use these coupons to your best advantage.

Our goal is to give you the real scoop on the best deal out there. Just because one store offer $10 off or advertises and item, it is not always the best deal.

By showing you which department store has free shipping on bath towels this week or by showing you which clothing store has 20% off your purchase, we hope to help you make the decision where to shop without having to visit 6 or 10 stores before you even get to the best part of the shopping trip, which is picking out the stuff!

Finding a True Bargain
Most people we know are proud when they can say they got a bargain on something worthwhile. At the same time, those people are most proud when it didn't take them all day to find it.

A bargain (at least to us) is when you can get the best brand name merchandise at the best prices available from a store that you know and trust or has been recommended highly. A bargain is not about getting something for a low price that is made cheap but only lasts a short time.


Stores you can trust, always Safe Shopping

We make a huge effort to check the stores we include and unlist any sites that do these things and only to work with honorable stores and merchants that you can trust.

We list many online stores that you may not have heard of, unlike some sites that put up a coupon from any store on the web, we carefully choose the stores to present deals to you from. We often order from a store first, check them out and many times have spoken with or met the store owner before we list their store. Still, we cannot guarantee every order and suggest that you research a store and check their credentials and quality rankings.

Some stores on the web have resorted to popup ads or to installing tracking mechanisms or software programs to supposedly "help" you shop. Our goal is to help you save money, not to track your every move. We do not endorse such methods or use them.

Another big reason the Spotlight Gift of the Week was put together is that although technology has come a long ways and opened many doors, it has also brought out people that are less than honorable in their intentions.

It seemed that all too often we would go to visit some of these so called "bargain" sites only to get 10 popup windows and sometimes, even worse, these sites would install some stupid software program on the computer without even asking if we wanted it. After 3 hours of cleaning out the computer and vowing to never visit that website again, our trust was wearing thin.

Any store or website presented on egazing.com will never install hidden programs or send you to websites with a dozen popup ads!

We will never lie to you intentionally. At the same time, we reserve the right to be wrong or stupid when it comes to telling you about deals. There certainly are times when a coupon expires early or a store pulls it and we appreciate it if you let us know if you find one of these.

A note about coupons and coupon codes

Our staff is continuously checking the coupons and special offers to remove expired deals. We will never intentionally give you a non-working coupon, but we reserve the right to make mistakes or be wrong.

Sometimes stores will discontinue an offer unexpectedly, send a coupon that is clicked to be valid and does not work. A big part of being around 10 years is that our readers help us by letting us know when we miss a deal or coupon that no longer exists. Let us know!
